Thugs of Hindostan becomes the 4th All-time highest opening weekend grosser

The Aamir Khan – Amitabh Bachchan starrer Thugs of Hindostan released last week across 5000 screens in the domestic market. Since hitting screens on Thursday last week, the film has been doing roaring business at the box office window. After raking in over Rs. 50 cr on its opening day, the business of Thugs of Hindostan continued to see good rate of footfalls in theatres propelling overall collections.

In this box office report we take a look at the opening weekend collections of Thugs of Hindostan while comparing the same to previous releases. Collecting Rs. 123 cr Thugs of Hindostan has managed to become the fourth all time highest opening weekend grosser. Though the collections of the film do not manage to surpass the business of previous releases like Sultan that collected Rs. 180.36 cr, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo that collected Rs. 129.77 cr, and Baahibali 2 – The Conclusion that had collected Rs. 128 cr, they do out beat other releases like Sanju that collected Rs, 120.06 cr, Tiger Zinda Hai that collected Rs. 114.93 cr, Padmaavat that collected Rs. 114 cr, Happy New Year that collected Rs. 108.86 cr, Dhoom 3 that collected Rs. 107.61 cr, and Dangal that collected Rs. 107.01 cr.

As of now, with Thugs of Hindostan still running in theatres, estimates are that the business of the film will see good growth over the coming days. In fact, with no big releases in the coming two weeks it won’t be surprising to see the business of Thugs of Hindostan crossing the Rs. 200 cr mark.
