The Flash: The Team Gains an Important New Member

SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for Run, Iris, Run, the latest episode of The Flash.

Team Flash just gained a new member. In Run, Iris, Run, the latest episode ofThe Flash, the team convinced another bus meta to join their cause: Matt Kim, aka Melting Pot.

As Barry and Iris learned the hard way, Matt developed the ability to transfer metahuman powers when he was exposed to dark matter. Iris accidentally got Barryai s powers when Matt touched Barry, then her. Of course, this came as just as much of a surprise to Matt, who he believed that he could only remove powers.

By the end of the episode, Iris successfully captured Matt and the two returned to STAR Labs so that Barry could get his powers back. Matt explained that he only wanted to help people; he saw his ability as a way to save others. Team Flash leaned into Mattai s inclination to use his powers for good and filled him in on DeVoe. He quickly agreed to help the team put an end to DeVoeai s reign of terror.

Of course, by joining Team Flash, Matt is helping himself as well, since DeVoe has killed every other bus meta but Ralph Dibney in his pursuit of their powers. However, with Matt, Team Flash may finally have what they need to defeat DeVoe once and for all. If Matt can remove DeVoeai s powers, the Thinker will be far less powerful ai and thus easier to defeat. However, chances are good that DeVoe will see this coming, as he has proved adept at predicting Team Flashai s moves so far this season.

Airing Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, The Flash stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Candice Patton as Iris West, Jesse L. Martin as Joe West, and Tom Cavanagh as Harry Wells, with guest appearances from Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West and Hartley Sawyer as the Elongated Man.
